Remote starter functionality is no longer limited to high-end luxury vehicles. They have become the norm for newer cars. Your old trusted vehicle doesn’t have to be left out, though, just because it’s a few years old. Aftermarket remote starters like MoboKey can be easy to install and work just as well, if not better, than those offered by car manufacturers. Albeit the ease of access, a question still arises how secure is your car with a remote starter?
How secure is your car with a remote starter?
The security of a car is the key element while designing a remote starter.
The engine and doors lock automatically, once you activate security the engine via app or remote. It is to make sure that no one can get inside the car. With the security activated in the MoboKey app, they can’t start the car even with the key. Moreover, most remote models can set a time for the engine to stop if the key isn’t inserted into the car.
Other remotes are designed to stop the engine instantly if one of the pedals is hit, but the key isn’t inserted (which happens if a stranger manages to get in the car).

In turn-key start cars, Mobokey can turn on ACC, Power, and even start the car as well.
As it is evident from the screen, the user can switch all the three options with a tap.
With Proximity on, when the user approaches the car, it automatically starts.
Once the user moves away from the car, it stops automatically.

How Proximity works in Push Start cars
In push-start cars, the functionality is a little different from the turnkey cars.
In this case, the smart key is activated and deactivated, depending upon the user position.
With Proximity on, when the user approaches the car, it automatically activates the push start button.
Once the user moves away from the car, it deactivates automatically, making the car more secure.
